Features
Most tools assume you belong to one club. Readers rarely do. Chapterr keeps each club its own room, and keeps you whole across all of them.
Many clubs, one account
Each club keeps its own reading list, meetings, members and chat, independent of the others. One account can belong to up to 20 clubs and own up to 10.
Private by default
No public profiles, no ads, no selling data. People join with a link or code from an admin; there is no directory and no way for strangers to find your club.
Club chat and direct messages
Realtime conversation for the club, plus private messages between members. Nothing in chat is ever public or shareable.
A reading list the whole club can see, in order, with a goal for the year and progress against it.
Set the next meeting, assign chapters by date, and let everyone see where the club is.
Your library, goals, reviews and quotes travel with you. Share what you choose with each club, and nothing more.
People join with a link or code from an admin. Invites can expire, be limited, or be revoked.
Upload your Goodreads export and your shelves, dates and ratings arrive in your library.
Add Chapterr to your home screen from the browser. It opens like an app, and the pages you’ve visited work offline.
Your shelf
Every book you add, in any club, lands on your own shelf. Your goal counts them all. Clubs see what you choose to share.

How it works
Give it a name. You’re the owner; you can hand that over later. It takes about a minute.
Send it to the group however you already talk. Members create an account, land in the club, and that’s it.
Pick the book, set the schedule, open the chat. Each member’s own shelf keeps up in the background.
Independence
Pick a club. Everything underneath changes: the book, the schedule, the meeting, the people.

You can run a club that way, and many do. The plan gets buried, the list lives on one person’s laptop, and your own reading is scattered across apps.

$1 per club, per month, after beta

We’ll give 30 days’ notice before billing starts.
Questions
Yes. During beta, every club and every feature is free, and we don’t ask for a card. We’re a small team; the beta is how we learn what clubs need before we charge anyone.
Each club costs $1 per month, paid by the person who created it. Members never pay. We’ll give 30 days’ notice before billing starts, and we’ll say exactly what happens to clubs that aren’t renewed before anyone is charged.
That’s the point. One account can belong to up to 20 clubs and own up to 10. Each club is its own space with its own members, list, meetings and chat; you switch between them from the sidebar.
No. There are no public profiles and no directory of clubs. Other members see only what you share with a club you both belong to. The one exception is a share link you create yourself, for a review, a quote or a club list; it works until you revoke it. Chats can never be shared.
Yes. Export your library from Goodreads as a CSV file and upload it in Chapterr. Shelves, dates read and ratings come across to your personal library. Imports are deleted from our servers after 30 days.
Yes. Chapterr is a web app that installs from the browser on iPhone, Android and desktop, with no app store. Once installed it opens like any other app, and the pages you’ve visited keep working offline.
An admin creates an invite link or code and sends it however the club already talks. Invites can expire, be limited to a number of uses, or be revoked. Nobody can find or join a club without one.
Yes, both, from Settings. Download your data at any time. Deleting your account removes your personal data; a club owner can delete a club, which removes it for everyone after a 30-day grace period. See the privacy notice for details.
